Who IS Ms Marni?
Ms Marni has taught Elementary Visual Art at Crossroads since the school opened in the
Fall of 1999. She is one of five Specialists at Crossroads. As an Art
Specialist, she services students in grades Pre-K to Sixth grade in
both the Science & Montessori programs at Crossroads. Students
rotate into Art in one-week increments every four to five weeks.
Ms Marni lives in St Paul with her Husband Dave, three step-sons:
Michael, Nick and Zachary; and her three dogs: Luci, Tallulah &
Zeaoui (zoh-eee) and cat, Madame Curie. She enjoys creative projects
often perceived by some as "messes", traveling,
gardening, playing ice hockey, fishing and sailing. She does NOT enjoy cooking!
Ms Marni has an Undergraduate degree with a double majors in Studio
Arts, Ceramics & Art History; she has double minors in Child
Psychology & American Indian Studies. She began teaching Visual Art
in the Fall of 1997 at West Central Academy, as part of Minneapolis Public Schools after
completing her Post-Baccalaureate and Initial Licensure program at the
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. Spring of 2005, Ms Marni
completed her Master of Education degree from the University of
Minnesota. Ms Marni loves Education and sees herself as a Life-long
Learner!
