Students began the year studying the elements of line (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, zigzag, curved, wavey and broken) shape (circle, ellipse), proportion (big & tiny, close & far) and color (making orange, blue & green) ; and technical skills of cutting, moogee (Ms. Marni's word for using a crayon on it's side rather than the tip), pasting, painting, use & maintenance of a paintbrush.
