Crossroads Tutoring Program
Crossroads Tutoring Program is a new, exciting program that focuses on providing quality tutoring in reading and math to kindergarten through sixth grade students. The program recruits tutors from local colleges and universities as well as local businesses. The students receive valuable one-on-one tutoring to supplement their classroom learning. The students who are targeted for tutoring are those students in the academic middle who do not receive any other services. These students are just slightly above or slightly below grade level proficiency in math and/or reading. The tutoring occurs during the school day from 9:30 am-3:30 pm and at our after school tutoring program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:30.

The program is run by two Americorps VISTA members. Rashida Barner coordinates tutoring for the Science program and Katie Berry coordinates tutoring for the Montessori program.

The program began in October 2009 and already has over 115 students receiving tutoring. We are still looking for new tutors to expand our program especially during the after school program. If you are interested in tutoring please contact us at crossroadstutoring@gmail.com or at (651) 767-8540 ext 1130.
