Hello, my name is Greg Childs, and I am the Crossroads Science Program Coordinator. In this role, I manage and coordinate the Inquiry Zone, work with classroom teachers to implement their science curriculum, and work closely with the other members of STEM team to develop and implement our plan of integrating the science, technology, engineering, and math.
I have served the students and families of St. Paul Public Schools for 17 years in many different capacities. At Maxfield, I was a Gifted and Talented Services Specialist, At Galtier I was an elementary science specialist, and a science coach in the Office of Teaching and Learning. I am originally from Florida and earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma. I also earned a masters degree from the University of Minnesota in Curriculum and Instruction.
Professionally, I have been involved in science education and engineering education at the State and National Level since 2003. I have had 3 article published in NSTA's Science and Children. The last article was recently published again in the book Bringing STEM to the Elementary Classroom. In 2004, I was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching by President Bush and The National Science Foundation.
