Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Gregor

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year. My family and I live in the country near Big Marine Lake about 30 miles northeast of Saint Paul.  My wife, Carrie, and I met while she was volunteering at my school 14 years ago. We have a seven year old daughter Francie, and a six year old son Tallen.  We also have three dogs Floyd, Hank, and Roxie. Some of my hobbies include Hiking, Hunting, Fishing (Ice), Camping, Motorcycling, Mt. Biking, and walking the dogs with the family. I am a huge Vikings fan! I have degrees from Vermilion Community College and Bemidji State University for both undergraduate and graduate. My career begin in 1999 at Roosevelt Elementary School in St. Paul. I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade and have been both a Science Specialist, and Social Studies Specialist. This is my sixteenth year of teaching and my sixth at Crossroads.  The year round schedule and the diversity of the students, staff and a great principal is why I teach at Crossroads.  Our motto for this year is "unfinished business".  I love the fact that I get to continue to build relationships with those from last year, and I always love getting to know the new students on the second year of the loop.

Homework Expectations

  • You can expect your child to get homework Monday - Thursday.  Students will need to read at least 20 minutes and complete their math, social studies, and spelling on those days. I want to keep their homework under an hour.  Please be sure to check your child's Avid planner to see what homework is due and don't forget to sign their planner on those days. Each child will need to have at least 80% of their reading done in order to participate in the Friday Film Luncheon that is held at the end of each month.

What's Happening with Team Gregor

  • As we begin the year we will be spending a lot of time building community and teamwork.  We do this through our morning meetings and structured recess. This is the most important time of the year.  We are doing activities that involves everyone trying to get to know one another. We are also learning the expectations of the class and I will be doing a lot of modeling, Y-charts (how it should should look, sound and feel).  We are also working on the C.A.R.E.S which is an acronym for Cooperation, Assertion, Respect, Empathy, and Self-Control.
