Currently, students are working through the second grade (because this is a new curriculum, I am starting 3rd grade students at the 2nd grade level) SmART Curriculum. Each student has created his or her own portfolio, studied how our bodies bend and move, created secondary colors (orange, violet, green) by mixing primary colors (red, yellow, blue) , collected and observed textures in nature, and made maze books.  Students have ben introduced to the technical skills of crayon techniques, cutting, pasting and tearing paper, watercolor marker use, painting, use & maintenance of a paintbrush.
