Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at Crossroads Elementary School. My name is Celeste Carty and this is my 13th year as principal of Crossroads. I hope you had a wonderful summer break, filled with opportunities to learn and grow. Our school continues to be a community where students are our number one priority.

There's a lot of excitement ahead of us, including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to know and new skills to master. I look forward to you sharing in these exciting times.

We look forward to continuing our work on the priorities established by the Strong Schools, Strong Communities plan. We will continue with our commitment to provide all Crossroads students with a challenging and rigorous curriculum, using assessments to guide, plan and strengthen our instruction.

I encourage you to become an active partner with us at Crossroads School and join us in some of the opportunities that are available to you and your child’s education, and to take every opportunity to join us at Crossroads any time during the school year. Some of those opportunities are: volunteering in the classrooms, chaperoning field trips, Action Team, Site Council, PTA, family events, establishing a homework routine, and reading with your child.

In closing, I would like to thank you for choosing Crossroads School and for trusting us with your child's education. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you throughout the year.
