Ms. Julie
Hello! ✷ Nyob Zoo! ✷ Salaam alaykum! ✷ Hola!
My name is Julie Ann Porath, and I am your Crossroads Elementary General Education Social Worker. This is the start of my 10th year at Crossroads, and am in my 21st year here at SPPS.
I have one son who has just started middle school, my significant other, Rick, and my bonus daughter, Callie who is a Junior in HIgh School. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, biking, tennis, kitchen dance parties, playing outside, boating, and traveling.
As a Social Worker I am passionate about advocating for families and kids within the educational setting. I love to integrate sensory strategies and mindfulness techniques in my work with students.

Ms. Mikayla
Hello!
My name is Mikayla and I will be the social work intern at Crossroads for the upcoming school year! I am a first year MSW student at the University of Minnesota and will be completing my foundational practicum here at Crossroads. I have spent the past 2 years working at Fraser in their trauma focused day treatment program, primarily within the Saint Paul Public Schools collaboration. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s in Psychology and minors in Family Therapy and Developmental Psychology. I was born and raised in the Milwaukee area and moved to the Twin Cities in 2019. I spend most of my free time exploring the cities with friends, visiting family, and playing with my chihuahua mix, Rex.
I am passionate about helping children and their families find the support they need! After I graduate with my MSW, I hope to become a licensed independent clinical social worker and support children and families in either schools or a therapeutic setting. I am excited to meet new kiddos, families, and staff this school year!
School Social Workers provide a vital link among the school, home and community. Most School Social Workers are involved in providing services to all students. Most provide direct services to students and their families including casework, group work and classroom presentations as well as providing crisis intervention and consultation and making referrals to community agencies.
As the general education Social Worker here at Crossroads, I have the pleasure of seeing kids in "lunch bunches" to help promote classroom connection and community; work with individual and small groups of students; serve as facilitator for our Student Support Team; and provide classroom lesson support for Zones of Regulation.
