What does a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) do?

SLPs work in hospitals, therapy clinics, nursing homes, schools, and more! Some our duties at school are listed below:

 

🤔 Teach strategies to help students understand what they hear & read

😀 Help students learn how to express their thoughts & ideas clearly

💬 Work with students who struggle to say sounds correctly 

🔑 Help students who stutter

🗣 Help students who have a hoarse or breathy voice

👫 Improve students' social communication skills

📖 Support the development of early reading skills

❓ Answer questions about speech & language development

👍 Provide parents & teachers with strategies to help improve the communication of their students
